As the Recreation Lands Coordinator, Mars leads recreation outreach, planning, and conservation efforts within public accessible spaces at CBLT. Mars is especially energized by opportunities to build stronger relationships between the community and the conserved lands that surround them—encouraging stewardship and responsible recreation. With a background in both environmental planning and outdoor recreation guiding, Mars brings a unique dual perspective to the role. Having worked on several winter conservation initiatives and as a local ski guide, she values the importance of management for the human experience, impacts, and resource protection. 

On her days off, Mars finds joy in moving through mountains – whether it be a high alpine scramble or skiing many of the plentiful ski lines the Upper Gunnison Valley has to offer. Her adventures fuel her curiosity and care for the spaces she has the opportunity to steward.
