Born and raised in Ridgway, Colorado, Owen found his passion for the environment through outdoor recreation. After graduating Colorado State University, with a degree in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability, he moved to Crested Butte to pursue his love of skiing. When the snow melted, Owen stuck around for the tight knit community and outdoor lifestyle. With a background as a ski instructor, climbing guide, and fishing guide, Owen has spent years sharing his love of recreation with others. Now, as a member of the Crested Butte Land Trust team, he’s excited to help protect and steward the same landscapes he cherishes. Outside of work, you’ll likely find Owen kayaking or fishing on the river, climbing up a mountain, or skiing back down.
