Volunteer
Volunteers play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the Land Trust, and there are year-round opportunities to make a difference from the office to the field.
Land Stewards
The Land Trust’s protected properties need to be nurtured and stewarded. Help with trail management, native habitat restoration, invasive plan removal, and more. Volunteers get to break a sweat and gain an insiders view of our protected lands. Work projects vary in difficulty.
Annual Event Assistance
The Land Trust’s annual events are opportunities to celebrate our conservation accomplishments while also raising much needed funds and friends for future work.
Conservation Monitors
Working in teams of two, our conservation monitors visit more than 5,200 acres of protected land each year, hiking, taking photos, completing reports, and identifying issues of concern for our stewardship team. Training for new monitors is held every year in June.
Photographers
If you love spending time outside in some of Gunnison County’s most beautiful areas, you can help us by providing fresh and new photographs for use on our website or newsletters. We appreciate new photographs showing wildlife in action, you and your friends enjoying the trails, or folks kicking up their heels at one of our events.
Organizational Assistance
Our office volunteers help with a range of projects, from mailings, proofreading, and help producing events.
