Gunnison Trails

Ridgeline Trail

The Ridgeline Trail/Colorado Trail Spur is a two-track trail used by mountain bikers and hikers. This trail easement, finalized in 1999, connects Gunnison to the Colorado Trail approximately 65 miles to the north, and travels along BLM land and private ranches.

The trail is easily accessed from the City of Gunnison. Two entries provide access and they include the Colorado Trail Spur beginning at Western State College from College Heights Drive and from Western’s football and track area where the Par Course begins. Surrounded by mostly black sagebrush and needle grasses, wildlife that frequents the area includes white-tailed jackrabbits, cottontails, deer and fox. Hawks and sparrows can be frequently spotted.
